The Story:
What can be said about Cracker Barrel. Since moving here, it has become one of my favourite restaurants. The food is not great, but is consistently good. The service, on the other hand, is rather "Hit or miss". It really depends on when you go and how busy they are. There have been times when we're barely in through the door and the staff is all over our every need. On the flip-side though, we end up with experiences like the last time we went:
We were seated fairly quickly but then sat for a good 10-15 minutes before any of the wait staff acknowledged us...and when our server finally did realize that yes, indeed, we were sitting in her section, she seemed little short (not in height, in attitude) and talked AT us, rather that TO us. I know that she's waited on us before, and perhaps she remembers doing so and feels some sense of familiarity. But, in all honesty, until we're on a first-name basis with you, don't feel too comfortable or we'll start to think of you as the crazy Uncle that nobody talks about.
The Verdict:
While the food is constant, the service (most definitely) is not. This is why I've putting Cracker Barrel in Fletcher on both the GOOD and BAD lists.
